SIZE GUIDE

Dining tables come in a variety of shapes and sizes and therefore each table requires a different type of tablecloth. But what are the dimensions of the dining table and how big should it be from the table?

The tablecloth should protrude approximately the same length on all sides of the table (unless it has been deliberately chosen larger on some sides for decorative purposes). Therefore, in order to choose the right tablecloth, you need to follow some simple steps.

Measure the dimensions of the table

Measure the width and length of the table. Of course, if the table is square or round then you can only measure one side or its diameter respectively.

There are 3 main types of tables:

Rectangle

Square

Round

Determine the size of the tablecloth

The tablecloth should be "hung" on each side of the table about 18 to 25 cm. You can also choose a longer tablecloth, such as reaching up to the middle of the table height. The tablecloth ends should be no more than 1 cm from the chair seat. In no case, however, the dining tablecloth should not "hang" less than 15 cm.

What if you do not know the exact dimensions of the table?

If you are going to buy a tablecloth without knowing the dimensions of the table (eg if you want to make a gift) then you can calculate the appropriate size according to the people who can sit on it. If you can not find a tablecloth that is close to the size you specified, it is better to choose a larger tablecloth than a smaller one.
